WaveLAN® Access Point provides an instant option to wired LAN Connectivity
The WavePOINT® bridge is a WaveLAN access point into a wired/wireless
network. With this bridge, WaveLAN workstations can be added quickly and
easily to a wired/wireless network.
This combination enables instant LAN connectivity for users such
as retail stores, financial institutions, warehouses, and hospitals where
wiring is costly, difficult to install, and lacking flexibility. By installing
a WavePOINT-based infrastructure, access to information can easily be extended
to mobile users.
This techonology is not limited to within a building. Can you think of a co-workers you
would like to have on your LAN, but until now it was too costly to do so? Whether they are
next door, down the block, or across the city, WaveLAN may be the affordable solution you have been looking for!
The WavePOINT bridge is a small compact unit and can be installed conveniently
on a desktop, ceiling, wall, or in a wiring closet.
WaveAROUND® Roaming Software
The key to building-wide computing is roaming -- the ability to move
from wireless cell to wireless cell while maintaining network connectivity.
Utilizing WaveAROUND software and WaveMONITOR® software
(included with WaveLAN products) make this a reality.

Typical Applications
- Building to Building Connectivity:
- LANs in numerous locations can be connected without needless expenses and
delays often associated with a Telco. solution.
- Pre-installed, ready-to-use LANs:
- LANs can be staged at a central location and quickly rolled out over
numerous locations.
- Access to information for mobile computer users:
- Nurses, retailers, office workers need access to information, while
being mobile in the hospital, retail store or office campus.
- Difficult wiring environments:
- Historic buildings, asbestos installations, and open areas are all
environments where wiring is difficult and expensive, if not impossible
to install.
- Frequently changing environments:
- retailers, manufacturers, and banks frequently re-arrange the workspace
or change locations. This can be done quickly without additional costs.
- Temporary LANs for special projects or peak times:
- Retailers, airlines, and shipping companies need additional workstations
for peak periods.
Auditors requiring workgroups at customer sites. Exhibitions and trade
shows requiring temporary set-ups for short time periods.
Options
- DES or AES Encryption for enhanced security
